What does Blended Learning mean to you?

There are many descriptions of Blended Learning and whilst the descriptions vary there is a common thread to them, a couple are listed below.

The British Educational Communications and Technology Agency (BECTa) describe it as a “combination of face-to-face and on-line delivery,” which they believe “suits a wider range of learning styles.”
Gulc, E. (2006). ” Using Blended Learning to Accommodate Different Learning Styles “.

Katerina Georgouli et al describe it as “the integrated combination of traditional learning with web-based online approaches”.
Georgouli, K., I. Skalkidis, et al. (2008). “A Framework for Adopting LMS to Introduce e-Learning in a Traditional Course.” Educational Technology & Society 11(2): 14.

How would you describe Blended Learning, particularly in a VET context?
